July 2011

“Someone firebombed a Planned Parenthood clinic in McKinney, Texas, late Tuesday night. Because it was so late, no one was hurt. The clinic doesn’t provide abortions, but there had been protesters there earlier that day anyway. You might’ve read about the news on Twitter or on a liberal blog. Probably not in a newspaper or on a cable new channel. Definitely not at any right-wing blogs. Which is a bit odd, actually, considering how much attention terrorist attacks generally get in this country. Oh, sorry, how much attention possible Islamic terrorist attacks get.” —

It’s also interesting to look how left-wing, or more specifically, eco-defense and animal liberation direct actions like this are demonized as terrorist attacks and are in every publication imaginable. I remember when all of the stuff with Walter Bond came up, I was seeing it being written about in news papers and talked about on tv everywhere.

If something like this were to ever make it on the President’s desk, I want cops to wear cameras on their uniform that record from the second they clock in to the second they clock out and their GPS information publicly available. I also want the President’s and all representatives’ web histories and their entire schedules available to the public with names of those on the phone and in meetings. Fuck this noise. We’re not the ones who need to be watched. We’re not the ones who fucked up the country.

Moffat: We're not going to save Hitler → insidetv.ew.com

Doctor Who executive producer Steven Moffat reassured fans alarmed by a Comic-Con trailer that suggested an upcoming episode would have the time-traveling doctor helping Adolf Hitler. In the clip from the upcoming midseason premiere, Hitler seemingly thanks the Doctor for saving his life.

“I think we can unequivocally say we’re against Hitler,” Moffat told critics at the Television Critics Association’s press tour about the episode, titled Let’s Kill Hitler. “I think the worst thing you can do to that awful man is take the mickey out of him on Doctor Who. Don’t worry, we’re not going to save Hitler.”

And what if a fictional show did save Hitler? This is fucking dumb.
